Facebook Usage Outpaces All Other Social Media Platforms

According to recent research by the Pew Research Center, Facebook remains the most popular social media platform by far.

In their 2016 social media update, Pew found the following:

  • 86% of American adults are online
  • 79% of that audience is on Facebook
  • Instagram is the next most popular social platform, with 32% of online adults using the site
  • 92-95% of users on Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Twitter also use Facebook

When it comes to daily usage, Facebook also leads the way; 76% of its audience logs in daily. About 51% of Instagram users check in daily. The majority of users on all other platforms log in weekly or even less often.
