Voice-First Ecosystem to Expand Drastically in 2017

According to recent reports from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) and VoiceLabs, there are approximately 9 million U.S. homes with voice-first devices in them. That number, according to estimates, will reach near 30 million by the end of the year. These numbers take into account only these voice-first devices: Google Home and Amazon Echo.

User experience currently focuses on four categories: listening to music and audio books; controlling smart home devices; playing games and partaking in similar entertainment; and, listening to news and podcasts. Both CIRP and VoiceLabs see potential growth over the year for branded content, business services and monetization opportunities.
