As most publishers know, on Twitter they could only display ads in their videos to individuals in their home countries. Thanks to the latest Twitter update, however, publishers will be able to monetize their video content globally, taking their message farther than ever before.
Twitter reports that many of the publishers on its platform can see up to 60% of their audience coming from global markets. With the new update, publishers have control over which markets they want to monetize within their monetization settings.
This change will increase the opportunity for publishers to generate more revenue from their content outside of their home country. It will also allow Twitter’s video inventory to expand for advertisers, growing ad opportunities exponentially.
Last June, Twitter allowed all advertisers to purchase in-stream video ads for 12 global markets via the self-serve ad platform. Some of these countries include Australia, Canada, France, India and Saudi Arabia. With this new update, advertisers can go beyond this current reach.
