Twitter Delivers Timeline Updates as Promised

On December 18th, social media giant Twitter released an update for iOS devices. The update allows you to switch between an algorithm-generated timeline or a timeline that shows you the most recent tweets first.

To get started, you must update the app to the latest version. Once updated, you’ll see a new button on the top right-hand side of the screen. By tapping it, you’ll see a button that allows you to change to the latest tweets. If you leave Twitter for an extended period of time, the platform will switch this setting back to the top tweets. However, to return to the latest tweets, you follow the simple process above.

Twitter’s update comes after upsetting the community in 2016 when it replaced its reverse chronological timeline. Top tweets and “in case you missed it” tweets were seen as clutter by many users. After listening to this feedback, Twitter granted the community its choice of switching between which timeline works best for their content.

An Android update is set to occur soon.
