On April 11, VistaPrint Digital published findings from its recent Small Business Consumer Expectations Report. This report involved surveying 1,800 adults in the United States who have visited small business websites in recent months. Some of the biggest takeaways are as follows:
- Nearly 50% of respondents said that outdated contact information (name, address, phone number—or NAP) is most likely to leave a bad impression.
- Almost 60% of respondents said a bad impression would make them less likely to make a purchase.
- Close to 70% of respondents said up-to-date and accurate website content is most important when it comes to having a positive website experience.
- About 53% of respondents deemed content out of date if it hasn’t been updated for one-to-six months.
- Just over 41% of respondents said they were not very likely to make a purchase from or visit a business if their website was poorly designed or looked unprofessional.
