A new update by Google allows users to see their related past search history with a new card on the results page. Google will show users the links to pages they’ve visited in the past and the searches that lead to those pages. The tool will also let users mark a page for reference at a later time, also known as Collections. This new addition to Google’s search engine rolled out on January 9th, 2019, on the mobile web and the Google app in the U.S.
The related search activity card could lead to more repeat visits to websites users have visited in the past. The addition of the “reference later” option gives websites a chance to become a common source for users, positively impacting their search analytics.
At this time, Google has not mentioned that the reference feature will be used as a ranking signal in core search.
