This week, Google rolled out two updates that allow search marketers greater insight into keyword data.
First, Google Search Console (GSC) rolled out keyword attribution. While the rollout does not include all data, as Google used to provide, you can now view exact keywords as they correlate to specific URLs.
Second, Google Trends received its own update. This update—more like an overhaul—brings great improvement to three areas of the tool: updated interface, new features for keyword research, and more detailed insight by region. In its blog, Google stated many of these features came directly from “feedback from Trends users.”
As search marketers seek any means of getting around the “not provided” responses from Google, these two updates could offer deeper insight than we’ve had access to in recent years.
