On Thursday evening, August 17, 2017, Google emailed website owners with forms on HTTP web pages. The email gave notice of two new situations in which users will see “NOT SECURE” warnings for unsecured forms and pages.
According to Google, the security warnings will appear later this fall:
“Beginning in October 2017, Chrome will show the ‘Not secure’ warning in two additional situations: when users enter data on an HTTP page, and on all HTTP pages visited in Incognito mode.”
Google also stated in its email that this “new warning is part of a long term plan to mark all pages served over HTTP as ‘not secure’.” It is encouraging all site owners to migrate their sites to HTTPS.
