Survey Results: Small Businesses Lean Heavily on Social Media for Growth

A recent survey by the United States Chamber of Commerce shows strong reliance by small businesses on social media for massive growth. Small businesses across the U.S. report using various social media platforms to attract new customers, cultivate existing customer bases, and sell to new audiences to better grow their businesses.

Of the many insights gained through this survey on the digital marketing trends of small businesses, the following statistics stand out:

  • 84% of small businesses use at least one social medial platform to reach customers
  • Over 60% of small businesses use Facebook
  • 56% of businesses using Facebook have seen an increase in sales due to their efforts on the platform

The report also noted a heavy reliance by businesses to use Facebook as a means of screening potential employees.
